This project aims to involve Stage 1 students in engaging ways of reading, writing and talking and listening to each other, while integrating technology throughout. Students will have the opportunity to explore, discuss, read, write, create, communicate, analyse, interpret and evaluate products 1R is buddied up with a class from The Junction Public School ,Newcastle. Each class selects a book on aliens, the the students write a description about their chosen alien and using a drawing program create an alien .They then, via video conference, share their story, pass on their descriptions and their partner at the other school produces a drawing based on the students description and 1r will then do the same activity with their buddy school.At the end of the exercise students will compare their drawings and see if they match. We are very excited about our project.
As well the aliens will be visiting our school in Week 4 .They have their own blog and students will be uploading questions for the aliens to answer when they arrive. Here is a glimpse of the Aliens visiting us.
We have just met the Aliens Glop and Blip who will be coming to visit our class .We will be looking forward to showing them around our school. We are excited.

20/2/12: Today we had our first EVER video conference with the children from The Junction Public school. After a few technical hiccups and a lot of help from Mr Kent we managed to see and speak to 1L and even taught them a song (without the music).They thought our song was funny and are awaiting the words and music.I will try to up load on here when I can. Have a quick look at our video.

Finally our aliens have arrived .1R eagerly gave them a quick tour of the school and they have now settled into their new holiday destination.
